Learning to Drive: Manual vs. Automatic
There’s a lot of variety when choosing a car—from size and color to wheel style and engine type. The options are endless. However, the most common confusion arises when choosing between the transmission type. Modern vehicles come in two transmission types, i.e., manual and automatic. Manual Transmission: A manual car requires the driver to use a gear shift situated on the center console to change the gears during acceleration and deceleration. It also has a clutch pedal on the left side of the brake. Pushing down on the grip pedal prevents power from going from the engine to the transmission so the driver can switch gears. The driver will first press the clutch, then move the gear shift to the appropriate gear , and then release the clutch to reconnect the motor's force to the transmission. Learning how to work these pedals and the shift stick in sync requires a lot of practice and focus. However, discipline brings about promising results. Pros · A more engaging experience
